Not every drink delivers what it promises
The market for hydrogen drinks is growing – but the differences in quality, concentration and purity are enormous. At the same time, many people reach for Energy Drinks or Pre-Workout Boosters when tired or before sports, which tempt with quick energy but often pose health risks due to extreme caffeine doses, sugar and chemical additives.
AWAKE offers a fundamentally different approach: the power of molecular hydrogen (H₂) – ready to drink, stable and in the highest concentration. We show you transparently what matters.

AWAKE vs. the Alternatives – All Detailed Comparisons
Here you will find our five detailed comparisons. Each explains the physiological, chemical and health differences – with study evidence and direct comparison.

Facts and Research on Molecular Hydrogen
Over 15 years of research, thousands of publications and a growing number of clinical studies – the science behind molecular hydrogen is anything but a trend. The research investigates potential effects that could positively impact well-being.
H₂ concentration in AWAKE thanks to nanobubble technology
Scientific publications on molecular hydrogen worldwide
Clinical studies and animal trials on molecular hydrogen
Paradigm shift: Ohsawa et al. in Nature Medicine
Oxygen consumption of the brain – particularly susceptible to oxidative stress
Body cells whose processes are studied in H₂ research
"Hydrogen is the smallest and lightest molecule in the universe. Due to its lack of electrical charge, it can effortlessly penetrate cell membranes – deep into the cell nucleus and the mitochondria, exactly where oxidative stress often originates."

Technology for Stable Molecular Hydrogen
Hydrogen is the most volatile molecule in the universe – that's why the right technology matters to deliver it stably and in high concentration. AWAKE uses unique processes that guarantee over 11 PPM.
Nanobubble Technology
Millions of tiny nanobubbles keep hydrogen stably in solution – for a consistently high concentration until the last sip. This technology maximizes bioavailability and ensures that hydrogen does not escape prematurely.
Can & Premium Glass
PET plastic cannot hold H₂. AWAKE relies on BPA-free cans and premium glass – for maximum freshness, stability and zero compromises on purity.
>11 PPM Purity
100% pure water with maximum hydrogen concentration. No additives, no artificial flavors – only what matters: water and molecular hydrogen in its most concentrated form.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Hydrogen Water Comparison
Everything you need to know about AWAKE and the alternatives – answered compactly.
Normal water consists of molecules in which hydrogen is chemically bound to oxygen (H₂O). This bound hydrogen is not available to the body as a free molecule. AWAKE delivers over 11 PPM dissolved molecular hydrogen (H₂) through pressure filling and nanobubble technology, which can pass biological membranes and mitochondria and is studied in research as a selective antioxidant.
Hydrogen boosters generate H₂ by electrolysis directly from water. At normal pressure (1 atm), the solubility of hydrogen in water is physically limited by Henry's Law. In addition, the gas escapes immediately after production. AWAKE breaks through this limit by pressure filling in a closed package and stabilizes >11 PPM until opening.
Hydrogen tablets generate H₂ through a chemical reaction of magnesium with water. This inevitably produces magnesium hydroxide residues (Mg(OH)₂) at the bottom of the glass. These can alter the pH value, leave a metallic aftertaste and cause stomach irritation in sensitive individuals. AWAKE works purely physically – without residues, without sediment.
A typical 500 ml can of energy drink contains around 160 mg of caffeine and up to 60 g of sugar. Pre-workout boosters typically contain 150–400 mg of caffeine per serving and sometimes banned substances like DMAA. AWAKE is completely caffeine and sugar-free and relies on molecular hydrogen instead – without crash, without stimulants.
Yes. Molecular hydrogen is not on the WADA prohibited list. AWAKE is 100% doping-free, calorie and sugar-free and free from artificial additives. Initial studies on elite athletes suggest that H₂ water may reduce lactate accumulation and support recovery. Pre-workout boosters, on the other hand, may contain prohibited substances.
Nanobubble technology creates tiny gas bubbles that massively increase the surface area of hydrogen in the water. This keeps H₂ stably bound in solution and does not immediately escape. In combination with pressure filling in diffusion-tight aluminum cans or premium glass bottles, it ensures consistently over 11 PPM until opening.
That depends on what you drink today. If you drink normal water, the comparison 'Hydrogen water vs. normal water' is worthwhile. If you rely on the caffeine kick from energy drinks or pre-workout boosters, our detailed comparisons on these topics will help you. If you're considering H₂ tablets or a hydrogen booster device, we compare the physical and health differences.
